Independent Study Version
This specialized version of Student Manager adds some special tools to facilitate the management of Independent Study (IS) or Correspondence courses. The Independent Study Version is NOT an optional module available for the regular Student Manager program. Instead, it is another version which must be run separately from your regular Student Manager program.
Some of the Independent Study features are:
- Course identified as Independent Study courses allow you to access the Lesson screen where you can add lessons, quizzes, and tests. When individuals enrolls in the course, you can choose to automatically assign all lessons, test etc. at the time of enrollment—OR enroll them in the next lesson after they complete and return the previous lesson.
- Specify a date that the course will be open for enrollment and the number of weeks (or months) a student is given to complete the course.
- Individuals can be identified as proctors in the Names database. This allows you to store pertinent data about the proctor, such as address, phones, subject codes, etc. It also facilitates report printing, such as mailing labels, envelopes, and student lists.
- Print mailing labels with Bar Codes for each lesson assigned. If you are using a Bar Code scanner, you can find the individual’s Name or Registration record by reading the Bar Code on the label. The Bar Coding font is included with the Correspondent Version.
- IS reports can be printed from Reports > Lessons.
- Lessons – generate lessons to send out to students.
- Errand Lists – lessons are identified as Active when they are logged into the system. You can then generate an errand list for each proctor to send with the lessons that need to be graded. When they've printed, you can clear the Active flag for the next day’s printing.
- Test Requests – generate mailing labels for proctors to send with tests.
