Reporting Errors to Your ACEware Technician

When reporting errors to your ACEware technician, please have the following information:

Student Manager

  • Your Student Manager Version and Compile Date.  These may be obtained on the About Student Manager window available from Help > About Student Manager.  
  • The initial (first) error message you received.  Your technician will need to know the entries in the Message and the Program Name fields.  
  • An exact description of what you were doing when you received the error message.  Also include the steps you took to clear the error.  For instance:  

"I selected the Statistics Course Data Summary report.  I selected my report options and clicked OK.  I then selected the Course Number begins query.  The query ran, then I received this error message. I clicked the Ignore button but kept getting errors, so I clicked the Reset button and was returned to the main screen.  The report never opened."

ACEweb

  • Your ACEweb Version number. You can find this on ACEweb's About page.
  • The error message the ACEweb Admin (listed in AdminEmail INI setting) received.
  • A description of what you (or the web user) were doing when you received the error.
  • The date and approximate time of the error. If generated by a web user, that person's name and ID from their name record. If they were enrolling in a course, also include the course number.
