Student Manager Implementation Checklist

Before installing Student Manager, please make certain the server meets the minimum requirements to run Student Manager. Server/workstation requirements are listed on our website.

Installation

Obtain installation file from ACEware technician
Install Student Manager on server
Give all staff who will use Student Manager full control of the Student Manager directory
Map all users to the Student Manager directory using the same drive letter and path
Create shortcut to Student Manager application file on staff members' computers
SQL Version: please contact your ACEware technician for SQL Implementation documentation.
We recommend you exclude the Student Manager directory from live anti-virus scanning.
   

User Records

Create User Records
Set Access Levels
   

Student Manager Codes

Determine code fields to be used
Determine code values for each field to meet your specific coding needs
Add/Edit/Delete code values
   

Initial Preferences

Edit preferences of the main Student Manager administrator
Determine fields to be used (e.g. will use course department field but won't use coordinator)
Enable/disable fields
Determine User Defined Fields to be used
Enable/Label User Defined Fields
Set behavior preferences (e.g. split location option, Name Grouping, etc.)
Assign preferences to all users with the Default Preferences option
   

User Interaction

Distribute user account information (i.e. their user ID and password) to Student Manager users
Train staff in the use of Student Manager
Users: edit user information if necessary (i.e. enter email signature, etc.)
